Goodbye Minnesota!

I can’t believe that I am leaving today! I am leaving for Chicago since I fly from there to Scotland on Saturday. It was very bittersweet saying goodbye to all of my wonderful friends, but I have lots to look forward to in the upcoming semester so I am trying to focus on that instead.

A very exciting update- I found out who my host family is! They seem like such warm and caring people. The family consists of Dorte (50-mom), Jesper (50-Dad), Soren (20-son), Sara (25-daughter), and Mie (22-daughter). I believe all of the kids live away from home, but I’m sure I will have many opportunities to meet them. They live in Roskilde, Denmark, which is about 30 minutes away from Copenhagen. I will also be living with another study abroad student from New York! I think we will all get along very well.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a fun New Years! I’ll post again once I arrive in Europe 🙂

Fashion Show!

I just found out I will be on the “Fashion Festival Crew” for Copenhagen’s fashion week! Here is a link: http://www.copenhagenfashionfestival.com/.I am so excited to see all the fabulous clothes and meet some new people. I also am planning on volunteering at a student-run bar in Copenhagen. I think it will be a great way to meet some Danes and become introduced to Danish nightlife and music. It’s taking every ounce of motivation I have to focus on my finals this week…I will be in Europe a week from Saturday!

T minus 17 days!

I can’t believe that I am leaving for Europe in 17 days! It seems like yesterday I was just starting to apply to study abroad, and now I am actually going! I’m leaving a little earlier than most people in my program because I will be spending New Years in Edinburgh, Scotland! Apparently they have one of the largest New Years Eve celebrations in the world. From there I will be going to Rome, Italy to visit one of my best friend’s who is studying abroad there this semester. We are going to Florence for a few days, and then I will end up in Copenhagen! I can’t wait to explore the city and meet my host family.
